Description
One thing most everyone can agree on is that getting sick and old and eventually dying sucks. Hank Green discusses some of the science of aging, other animals with impressive longevity, and muses over the end of death. Many cold-blooded animals, for instance, don’t really age, or at least in the same way we do. For humans, we age until out telomeres wear out – a strategy we may have evolved to avoid cancerous cell growth. Other scientists have found ‘aging genes’ in some animals. Hank ends on the science behind calorie intake, which actually stimulates aging.
