This fast paced video avoids the politics of cultural imperialism and focuses more on the drier facts of America’s long list of countries, territories, and islands that aren’t states but still part of the United States.  The video goes through each and breaks down the different kinds they fall into.  At the end it discusses the confusion of the whole system and how it might likely break down in the future.

• Were you aware that there were so many non-state territories?  What surprised you the most?
• Do you think countries like Puerto Rico should be independent or become official U.S. states?
• Is it right that the U.S have so many territories without their citizens having full states’ rights?  Or does it work well as it is?
