This video does a great job describing the materialistic calculations involved in love and romance without losing the warm fuzzy feelings we wrap ourselves up in.  The video describes how each sense helps us decide who we’re attracted to, including smelling pheromones, seeing smooth skin, and hearing high or low pitches.  It also discusses the basic science behind that magical first kiss.

• So, is “love at first sight” real?  If not, what else might be part of the equation?
• If attraction is just a bunch of chemicals do you think that would take the ‘magic’ out of romance?
• Does this mean we should just judge potential partners by what kind of hormones they release or genetic advantages they may give our kids?
