Hank Green – who joined the Mars Society when he was in high school – explains both the importance of why we should go to Mars and the problems we face along the way.  During the video he discusses the four basic challenges we face to getting there, namely 1) the how to get there, 2) solving the risks of the mission itself, 3) finding the money, and 4) justifying why to public.

Discussion Questions

• Do you think we should or shouldn’t go to Mars?  What are the pros and cons?
• Is it worth the cost and risk?  Or are there more important things to do on our own planet?
